Welcome to The Leading Strong Podcast hosted by 34 Strong Co-Founders Darren Virassammy and Brandon Miller. This episode aired on 09/23/20. You can listen to the Full Episode HERE.
In this week’s episode, hosts Brandon Miller and Darren Virassammy dive into the 5th of the 12 Manager Intelligence Skills – Inclusive. The Manager Intelligence Skills are the habits of what the Best Bosses do – they become the skills that are honed and developed as habits to create sustained teams of highly engaged employees.
The Manager Intelligence Skill of Inclusive is expressed in making sure every member of the team feel like they are part of a tribe, where all voices are heard and validated. Those who develop this still are sensitive to those who could feel left out and make an effort to bring them in. In turn, this brings a sense of stability, and a willingness to open, learn, and grow as a part of a whole.
The Highs and Lows of the Inclusive Skill
- High: I make sure every member of my team feels like they are part of a tribe, all voices are heard and validated. I am sensitive to those who could feel left out. (Validated, Valued, Vulnerable)
- Low: My team has silos, communication is secretive or exclusive, team members don’t feel appreciated. (Silos, Secrets, Shunned)
