In this week’s episode, hosts Brandon Miller and Darren Virassammy recap season 1 of the Leading Strong Podcast by walking through the first 3 Manager Intelligence Skills of Individualize, Integrity, and Influence, and tying these skills into the 4 T’s of Successful Management.

The 4 T’s To Successful Management

Organizations that consistently promote and develop the Best Bosses understand the 4 T’s of managerial excellence.  They are:

  1. Technical Abilities
  2. Tenure
  3. Talent
  4. Training

The 1st Manager Intelligence Skill – Individualize

Individual team members react differently in times of crisis and change. Managers who understand the individual needs of their team members have valuable information to align their communication and instructions to meet the style each team member responds best to. Growing this skill will improve productivity on your team and improve communication and collaboration between team members.

The 1st Manager Intelligence Skill – Integrity

Team members look to their boss to be a source of strength and guidance in a time of uncertainty. Job shifting, remote working, social distancing and increased workloads all have an impact. Growing this skill of integrity can build trust with your team and forms strong bonds.

The 3rd Manager Intelligence Skill – Influence

Team members follow managers who set a clear course and direction .To influence a team in times of trial, managers create a setting of positive reinforcement and clear calls to action. Learning to sustain this skill will keep your team engaged and motivated.
