In this week’s episode, hosts Brandon Miller and Darren Virassammy dive into the BONUS Manager Intelligence Skill – Emotional Intelligence

Managers with strong Emotional Intelligence recognize their own emotions and those of others, creating safety, gaining team trust by thinking before speaking and acting rationally. In this session, we will build up this skill and help managers recognize the challenges of maintaining this skill and how to recognize triggers.

The Highs and Lows of the Emotional Intelligence Skill

  • High: I recognize my own emotions and those of others. I am safe, my team trusts me because I think before I speak and act rationally.
  • Low: I get stressed easily, and have a difficult time asserting myself. I make assumptions quickly and hold grudges when I don’t get my way.
